Capturing the Heart of Family and Finance: A Brand Session with John from Money Jar Concept

In personal branding, who you are and what you stand for really shapes your story — and recently, I had the absolute pleasure of working with John from Money Jar Concept, a finance broker with a wicked sense of humour! This session wasn’t just about snapping professional photos; it was about capturing the heart of his brand — one that’s all about family, community, and genuine connection.

While John is the face of the business, his family is very much part of the story. They’re there behind the scenes, cheering him on, and woven into the values that shape everything he does.

John isn’t your typical finance broker. He helps families and business owners find smarter, fairer ways to move forward. He’s also the founder of Humans of Sky, sharing stories of Inner West locals with heart and curiosity. If you’re from the Inner West, chances are you’ve bumped into him — or had one of those unexpectedly brilliant chats that sticks with you. In fact, that’s exactly how we first connected — John interviewed me about my life and work for one of his stories. So it was a real joy to turn the focus on him this time.

This shoot was a little different too — we split it into three small sessions, each capturing a different side of John’s life and business. Family moments, community connection, and professional branding all rolled into one fun, creative day.

Family at the Core

John is a family man just like most of his clients who are looking to buy a home. Part of the brief was to show that, so we started with some family photos in Williamstown at the crack of dawn to get that beautiful golden light. I wasn't sure they were going to be up for it, but they were all in! They had a fantastic time just enjoying being a family . . .

In the Studio

Next we headed to the studio where we captured some professional headshots and some fun ones. We had such a laugh with the Bluey house!

Around the Hood

Our last stop was at his home and local park with some images capturing what the kids love doing, which you often hear about on social too. Speed cubing! John couldn't help himself and had some fun on the swings too. It was a great way to end the day.
